About the Artist:
In front of my 8ft crayon piece "Performance". 2011.
" I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil. I started finger painting when I was a baby and from there I really fell in love with drawing. After doing a lot of self teaching and learning with the guidance of some awesome public school art teachers (Mr. Sparky, Mrs. Sailor, Mrs. Baars), I feel like I developed a real skill in drawing what I saw. I'm from a small town (Douglas, GA) of about 7,500 people or so, so there wasn't-and still isn't- a lot of education for art. At the conclusion of high school I turned down several scholarships from art institutes, design schools, and art departments from across the country to pursue a degree in History with a minor in Political Science.
It wasn't until my Junior year of college at Kennesaw State University when I was studying for the LSAT's that I first got the urge to create abstract artwork. Since then, I feel like all of my work has improved...its definitely helped me develop as an artist. When I create abstract work I start with an emotion or a message...from there I allow that energy to take over. Most of the time the pieces are effortless, almost creating themselves.
When creating a piece of art I strive for two things, emotion and imagination. I want my audience to feel something when they observe my work, and I want them to imagine something beyond just what they see. I want them to take it another step from where I left it. I want them to ask questions and make their own answers.
I really cant thank you enough for checking out my site and I really hope you find something that you like."
